APPLICATION FOR BOARD MEMBERSHIP

At Lennox & Addington Interval House (LAIH), we firmly believe that a Board comprised of diverse voices and experiences fosters strong collaboration and better equips us to meet the unique needs of the women and children of our community.

LAIH’s vision is a world where all women and children live in homes free of violence and fear.

Our organization’s mission is to support women and children at every stage of their journey.  Whether through the provision of safe housing, a range of confidential, non-judgmental, flexible, community-based support services, the programs and services are focused on each woman’s distinct experiences.

LAIH views the world through an anti-oppressive and equity lens and if you do too, and you’re ready to commit to making our world, and our community, a better place, ask yourself these questions:

·      Do you believe that a committed group of people working together can create meaningful change in the lives of women and children affected by violence?

·      Do you feel that mentorship programs can empower women who have experienced violence to thrive and gain independence?

·      Do you feel that you know and care about opportunities for impactful change but you’re not sure how to get involved?

·      Do you have a unique perspective or voice to bring to the table?

Consider joining the passionate, welcoming and forward-thinking Board of Directors at LAIH.

LAIH is looking to grow its board membership. We are currently seeking individuals with expertise in the following areas:  legal, financial, fundraising, program development and communications. Previous board experience while an asset, is not necessary. A diverse and inclusive Board helps us adopt new and innovative ideas and approaches.

LAIH is working towards reaching out to people who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour), 2SLGBTQ+ and all marginalized identities, to incorporate voices, lived experience, knowledge and expertise of individuals who have previously not had a place at the table.

Please email us at inquirylaih@kingston.net for inquiries or to request an Application for Board membership. We’d love to hear from you!
